Canoe Tsiribihina river – Tsingy of Bemaraha – Kirindy Réserve – Avenue of Baobabs – Morondava

The Tsingy of Bemaraha is one of the most beautiful tourist sites in Madagascar. A UNESCO World

Heritage, home to an exceptionally large number of endemic species of plants and animals that are

found only in Madagascar. Add to that the descent of the tsiribihina river on a boat and you have an

exceptional trip.

Itineraire

Day 1: Arrival in Antananarivo (Capital of Madagascar).

Reception at the airport of Antananarivo and handing over of the documents, transfer to the Hotel. Dinner

at the hotel.

Day 2 - Antananarivo – Antsirabe

Departure in the morning at 7am from the capital to Antsirabe, a city located 170km south of

Madagascar. Crossed by green landscapes composed of rice fields and traditional architecture.

A modern and very quiet city. On the road visit workshop that manufactures several articles in aluminum.

The materials of the foundry and the forge. Manufacture of tools and firearms craft. Lunch and installation

at the Hotel which is located in the city center.

Visit of its pretty little parks and the big market – visit of its workshops of embroiderers, precious stones,

etc.

Day 3: Antsirabe - Miandrivazo

Departure in the morning for Miandrivazo, about 250 km from Antsirabe.

We leave the hotel in the morning to progress in the desert landscapes of the West of Madagascar.

We return to the village of Miandrivazo which is on the banks of the Tsiribihina River.

End of the afternoon free to visit the city and night at the hotel Princesse du tsiribihina.

Day 4: Miandrivazo - Descent by pirogue- Nosy Ampela

We go down the river and enter the Bemaraha gorge, the landscape is magnificent.

Discovery of various aquatic birds and meeting with the local people of the riverside villages.

Picnic lunch. Night in a campsite along the river.

Day 5: Nosy Ampela - Ambatomainty

Breakfast and swimming in the natural pool called « Cascade ».

Continuation of the crossing-visit of small typical villages, possibility of seeing lemurs.

Picnic dinner and bivouac by the river.

Day 6: Ambatomainty - Belo sur Tsiribihina - Bekopaka

Continuation of the adventure, lunch in Belo sur Tsiribihina, and transfer to Bekopaka (Tsingy de

Bemaraha Park).

Arrival late in the afternoon and installation at the hotel orchid of Bemeraha. Dinner at the hotel.

Day 7: Bekopaka - Small Tsingy

Departure for a first incursion in the heart of the National Park of Tsingy of Bemaraha,

site as unusual as impressive formed by limestone peaks whose highest reach more than 30 meters.

The exceptional character of this site has allowed it to be classified as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Stroll in traditional dugout in the gorges of the Manambolo followed by an excursion in the caves opening

on the cliff side.

These caves are the ancient necropolis « Vazimba », the first inhabitants of the island.

In the middle of the day, the visit will lead you to the Small Tsingy.

Day 8: Bekopaka - Grands Tsingy

Day excursion. Departure for a pirogue.

You will cross the gorges of Manambolo for the destination of the caves where the bats go by thousand,

without forgetting the passage to the tombs of the » Vazimba « , small men, Malagasy ancestors.

After which you will discover the Great Tsingy of Bekopaka. The Tsingy are very sharp and pointed

limestone rock formations that reach up to 60 m high.

A wonderful site forming a cathedral of pointed limestone. Picnic lunch during the excursion. Overnight at

the hotel.

Day 9: Bekopaka - Kirindy

The journey and adventure continues. Departure on the same road for 6 hours of track passing by

Sakalava villages,

where you can see countless baobabs, rice fields, dry forests. A passage on the BAC will be at the

rendez- vous.

Lunch at your expense along the way and the journey continues to the forest of Kirindy.

Will be on the program the night visit of the Kirindy forest to observe the fosa and the nocturnal lemurs.

Overnight at the hotel.

Day 10: Kirindy – Morondava

In the morning, visit the Kirindy reserve. Through the dry forest, you will find birds such as the Coua

(Coua cristata and couagigas), the Paradise, white lemurs and brown lemurs.

In the afternoon, road for the baobab’s avenue then go to Morondava.

Day 11: Morondava - Antananarivo

Breakfast, Betania excursion, then back to the hotel for lunch and transfer to the airport for your flight to

Antananarivo.

According to your flight schedule, transfer to the airport.

Day 12: Antananarivo - Departure

Breakfast and free day.

You will have a vehicle at your disposal to do some shopping before your departure.

Transfer to the airport for your international flight.
